Born 1970. Completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Art History at the University of Auckland in 1990. Spent the next six years intermittently traveling in North and Central America and Europe and studying at Elam, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Time Based Arts 1996. Has subsequently traveled regularly in Asia, including five months studying Mandarin at Beijing Language and Culture University.

Was a founding member in 1992, and later administrator, of artist run gallery TESTSTRIP , and co-founded Cuckoo, a contemporary arts project working transiently through existing galleries, in 2001.

Has a practice ranging across mediums as varied as performance, painting, photography and sound and has taught in a variety of departments at Manukau Institute of Technology's, School of Art and Design and Elam School of Fine Arts where he is currently a fulltime lecturer.
