Stephen Piper was born in London 1955.

Began working in the theatre as Stage Manager and Lighting Designer including Royal National Theatre, London and Sydney Opera House.

Moved to Art Department in film industry as Props Buyer and Art Director.

Started to assist various local advertising and editorial photographers and also to produce shoots for some international advertising photographers coming to New Zealand to work.

Last 10 years has worked primarily as a Location Scout mostly for TV commercials and some feature films.

Throughout this time Stephen has consistently shot his own work.

2003 completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at University of Auckland at M.I.T.

This is Stephens’s second show. The first also being a group show at Milk Gallery in Wellington in 2000.
